FAQs
What makes you qualified as a therapist?
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). I hold a Master’s degree in counseling, passed an exam in professional counseling, and then completed two years post-master’s supervision as an LPC-Associate prior to becoming an LPC in 2019. I am also committed to ongoing continued professional trainings and personal growth.
Do you accept insurance?
I accept Aetna and Cigna at this time. I am also in the process of getting paneled with Optum (includes United Healthcare). When I am able to accept Optum, I will announce this update to clients directly and on my online platforms.
What does a cash-pay (not using insurance) session cost?
My cash-pay rate is $160. I also offer some sliding-scale rates for clients who would experience financial hardship paying my full rate. Sliding scale rates can be discussed via email or phone call prior to beginning treatment. Discounted rates will be documented in an agreement form signed by client and counselor.
How do I pay for services?
Alma is the platform I use for billing both cash-pay clients and clients using insurance. Alma will invoice you for your payment responsibility, whether that is an insurance co-pay charge, my cash-pay rate, or a sliding scale rate.
Prior to our first appointment, I will send you a link that gives you the option to enroll in autopay with Alma. With this option, they will securely store your credit card information and automatically charge you after an appointment. Having a credit card enrolled in autopay with Alma saves you the hassle of tracking invoices and worrying about timely payment. If you are not enrolled in autopay, Alma will email you an invoice to pay manually using a credit or debit card.
Do you offer in-person counseling?
At this time I am only offering Telehealth sessions. I am planning to offer in-person services in Denver in the future. When in-person services are available, I will announce this update to clients directly and on my online platforms.
Should I be concerned about privacy or effectiveness with Telehealth?
Telehealth services are HIPAA secure and have been shown to be effective.
Where do our Telehealth appointments occur?
Alma is the platform I use for Telehealth sessions. Once I schedule a Telehealth appointment with you, an email will be sent to you from Alma with the time, date, and Telehealth meeting link. You’ll simply click on the provided link to connect to Alma Telehealth at the time of our appointment. Alma Telehealth is HIPAA-compliant and data encrypted.
What browsers and devices are Alma Telehealth supported on?
